The HX concept & philosophy of healthcare

What is medicine 3.0 and in what way does it differ from medicine as we know it?

Medicine 3.0. is a new, scientifically tested method of health care that does not so much aim at curing individual symptoms but rather focuses on prediction and prevention – especially the prediction, prevention and timely intervention in civilizational illnesses. It builds on the insight that chronic illnesses do not work within a binary frame (i.e. the state of being healthy vs. being ill), but that they rather comprise a long process that can be identified and impacted long before symptoms develop.

What particular approaches does HX’s preventive medicine take?

Rather than adopting the usual reactive approach, HX uses rigorous, scientifically tested longevity studies and builds on the insights of predictive and preventive medicine. It relies on evidence-informed protocols, the interdisciplinary collaboration of medical doctors and the continuous comparison of data with the newest findings in the field. Rather than using trendy and isolated “biohacking” solutions, HX’s approach allows our client to achieve long-term resilience and prolong their life and health. That is also why the HX team works as a single, coordinated body rather than a set of isolated departments.

What is the HX Clinic and what does it offer that other clinics don’t?

HX is the first clinic focusing on medicine 3.0 in Czechia. The clinic offers preventive and predictive medicine, connecting top-notch medical fields within a single integrated healthcare system. We are not a clinic for one-time check-ups, and we are not a wellness center; we are a place where medical experts collaborate and make decisions based on scientifically proven protocols. HX’s rigorous approach is guaranteed by the HX Scientific Board that defines the clinic’s methodology in close collaboration with our expert team and regularly updates its methods to stay up to date with the cutting edge of contemporary medical care.

The outcome of this collaboration is the HX Continuum clinical method that builds on the systemic understanding of health as a comprehensive ecosystem, connecting expertise across various disciplines and integrating the newest scientific findings into personalized healthcare methods. Each client is monitored by a multidisciplinary team that collaboratively creates and regularly updates their long-term health strategy based on the client’s personal values and everyday choices.

What is the role of preventive diagnostic tools in modern medicine, and which tools does the HX Clinic use?

HX owns a diagnostic apparatus that is exceptional in its breadth and depth and is unprecedented in the context of similar institutions working across Czechia. It includes advanced imaging techniques such as CBCT for identifying hidden inflammation, accurate analysis of body composition and bone density (DXA), exercise and metabolic diagnostics (CPET), digital dermatoscopy using AI tools, as well as a detailed examination of the musculoskeletal system, including muscle strength and stability.
Yet the difference is not in the individual machines we use, as each device is just one small part. It is only when used in concert that they provide key findings.

HX interprets all data across diverse disciplines and then translates them into clear priorities and particular steps. Rather than providing a set of varied results, we create a comprehensive health image that we are able to shape over the long term.

Why does HX’s approach require interdisciplinary collaboration?

Health is not a set of isolated parameters but an interconnected system. Metabolic, cardiovascular, neurological and behavioral processes impact each other in myriad ways. That is also why HX’s approach to healthcare relies on systemic medicine, interdisciplinary understanding and the transposition of science into practice in the spirit of so-called ‘translational rigor.’ The team of medical doctors, physiologists and specialists interpret data across the 6 Dimensions of health that comprise the HX Continuum, cultivating robust continuity that allows them to react in a timely fashion.

You often mention the 6 Dimensions. What does that mean, exactly?

The six key biological dimensions function as the main pillars supporting our approach to predictive and preventive medicine. These six domains have the greatest impact on healthspan and quality of life, and we use them to develop a diagnosis of our client’s health, interpret their results and determine their ideal healthcare strategy. The 6 Dimensions are: Cardiovascular & Vascular Integrity, Metabolic Homeostasis, Immune and Inflammatory Balance, Oncogenesis & Cancer Control, Musculoskeletal & Physical Integrity, and finally Neurodegeneration: Cognitive & Psychological Resilience.

What (not) to expect from HX

What do I get from HX that I would not get from my General Practitioner or institutions of premium medical care?

The HX Clinic offers a degree of care that extends much further than standard or premium medicine: instead of short consultations and isolated specialist opinions, the client receives a personalized and active interpretation based on several hours of deep diagnostics including genetics analysis, DEXA, cardiometabolic testing, functional physiology and detailed evaluation of the musculoskeletal system. Standard medical practice either entirely omits these diagnostics or performs them only too late.
In contrast to traditional approaches, where each expert sees only a particular dimension determined by their own practice, HX works as an integrated team that decides in concert and builds on the unified HX Continuummethodology. That is why the recommendations are accurate, personalized and consistent. Each client furthermore has their own Care Manager who coordinates the entire process and manages all logistical issues.

All this makes for a long-term approach to healthcare: we follow the trends, identify potential issues and react before a problem has time to develop. That is a level of care that standard and premium medicine is unable to provide.

Can HX replace standard ambulatory or emergency care?

Our long-term programs standardly include ambulatory (outpatient) as well as emergency care, as they comprise an integral part of the complex support system we offer.

What illnesses or risks can HX help me prevent?

We focus on predicting and preventing the main causes of illness and mortality – atherosclerosis, cardiovascular illness, oncological risks, metabolic disorders and neurodegenerative processes. We also address issues of physical performance, sleep, and functional capacity. We work systematically: HX is not about isolated diagnostics but rather a comprehensive and interconnected ecosystem. Thanks to this approach, we are able to predict relevant risks using complex examinations (for example, advanced lipid markers incl. ApoB/Lp(a), OGTT/CGM, DEXA, VO₂max/CPET, dermato‑/dental screenings, targeted oncological calendars) and long-term guidance protocols. Standard ambulatory care then resolves any remaining chronic or acute illnesses.

Is HX right for me?

When should I become a client? Might I be too young or too old?

It makes sense to start at any age: the sooner you start, the more ahead you are, and the easier it is to comprehensively manage your trajectory and protect what matters most. Modern longevity research shows that biological processes can be influenced at any age, albeit in different ways. HX Continuum works across many life horizons: when working with younger clients, we create a particular baseline and prevent future risks; when working with more mature individuals, we optimize their capacities, slow down negative trends and concertedly support bodily systems that determine longevity for future decades.

Is HX just for people with health problems or also for those who feel healthy?

It is ideal for both categories of people. When working with healthy people, we construct an objective baseline, set their strategy and detect any deviations the moment they appear. With higher-risk or more complex clients (family history, subclinical signals, demanding lifestyle) we offer integrated guidance across the disciplines and continually adjust their plan. We also involve reliable external experts and institutions whenever necessary. The entire process is discretely managed by the dedicated Care Manager so that it remains fluent and organized.

What can I expect from the process if I am healthy?

You will receive an accurate map of your health along with clear priorities and a personalized strategy, longitudinal trend reports, regular evaluations in the app and personal consultations with the team. We will do our best to prevent all potential illnesses in the years and decades to come. We will optimize your time investment into your health, including your exercise program, sleep schedule and nutritional strategies. We will strive to keep your laboratory results well under the standard benchmarks in order to avoid the onset of any chronic illnesses for as long as possible. The aim here is not to “get a checkup” but to expand the capacities of your body and mind.

HX methodology & scientific rigor

How do I know that the HX Clinic’s procedures are truly rigorous?

The HX Scientific Board guarantees the compliance of all rigorous processes of HX, defines all its clinical protocols, sets its methodology and regularly updates it based on new findings. We rely on an evidence-informed approach that consists in triangulating clinical evidence and the quick adoption of the newest clinical findings into practice. Every recommendation has well-documented benefits, limits and alternatives. We prefer interventions with verifiable effect and always honestly inform our clients about any potential “trade-offs.”

What constitutes HX’s methodology and how is it formulated?

HX’s methodology is based on HX Continuum: a clinical methodology for the strategic development of health into the future. It consists of four pillars: a deep understanding of biology, interdisciplinary protocols and an individual health strategy. Instead of reacting to problems as they come up, the methodology is designed to identify risks as quickly as possible, determining priorities and long-term management of the client’s health trajectory.

The methodology is centered around four interconnected features: Insight (a profound understanding of the client’s biology derived from biomarkers, imaging techniques, functional diagnosis and medical history), the 6 Dimensions (a clinical model of six domains that have the greatest impact on life and health),Personalized Strategy (a multidisciplinary, prioritized strategy with clear output, timing and metrics that includes the client’s active involvement) and Continuous Optimization (based on new data, changes in capacity and responses to intervention; the year-long Resilience 100 healthcare program ensures continuing optimization).

How are the recommendations for clients formulated and updated?

About 80% of the recommendations draw on clinical protocols defined by the Scientific Board while 20% are derived from the expert discretion of our team (i.e. based on the individual context). Every step has a clear priority, an expected benefit, a horizon and measurable outputs. The plan is regularly revised based on new data (diagnostics, monitoring, application) and relevant evidence, so that the strategy reflects the development of the client’s health in time.

Who is behind the HX clinic

Who directs the Clinic?

The Clinic is directed by a team headed by CEO MUDr. Jiří Paseka, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Michal Barabas, and Chief Physician Officer MUDr. Jana Yanová. The medical leadership relies on experts on the HX Scientific Board that ensure all clinical protocols are up to date and reflect the most recent scientific findings and principles of modern medicine.

Members of the Scientific Board are doc. MUDr. Jana Halámková, Ph.D., prof. Jakub Abramson, Ph.D., Mgr. et Mgr. Ján Cvečka, Ph.D., prof. MUDr. Martin Haluzík, DrSc., prof. MUDr. Michal Vrablík, Ph.D., MHA, doc. MUDr. Martin Vyhnálek, Ph.D.

The Scientific Board operates as an independent expert body overseeing the quality of expert care, defining best practices, regularly revising preventive and diagnostic protocols and ensuring their compliance with state-of-the-art research.

What role does Daniel Křetínský play in the HX Clinic?

Daniel Křetínský is an investor of the HX project. He initiated the establishment of HX because he believes that health should be monitored in the long term and in a rational manner, well before the development of a particular problem. HX translates this philosophy into practice and builds on the principles of Medicine 3.0 – prediction, prevention and timely intervention that protects vitality long before it starts to dissipate.

The price and value of HX healthcare

What determines the price of HX programs?

We offer a top-notch, year-long, integrated healthcare model including hours of diagnostics, multidisciplinary guidance, regular monitoring and a practical mobile application for managing your health trajectory in time. Our objectives do not end with any single operation but include a strategic and continuous approach emphasizing measurable improvement to our client’s life and health. We prioritize timely diagnoses that minimize future costs.

How does HX membership benefit long-term health and longevity?

HX membership focuses on extending our clients’ healthspan, meaning the period of life when we feel in good health, are full of energy and can function without limitations. Thanks to our systematic health management, timely identification of risks and targeted prevention, we aim to extend this limit by one to two decades. This is not about a one-time intervention but a long-term, managed process that helps keep us vital and productive, and increases our quality of life into the future.

What is the HX App and how does it work?

The HX App is a digital interface that connects all data about your health in a single place and provides meaningful information in time. It is a tool for long-term health management, providing more than just a one-time overview of partial results.

The application stores information from individual checkups. Clients of our longitudinal programs receive regular updates of their data along with other measurements, which the app translates into an easily understandable form. That is also why the app shows not only the client’s current status but, even more importantly, their development in time and the connections between their body’s individual aspects.

There is also a system of priorities and recommendations that is regularly updated based on the client’s data that helps us focus on fields that have the biggest impact and allows us to better monitor their development.

The application also provides context for explaining the individual parameters and provides accessible expert information in a manner that allows our clients to better understand what is happening in their body and why.

This all makes healthcare a natural part of our lives that shapes the choices we make on a daily basis.
